Robert Anthony Plant, CBE (born 20 August 1948) is an English musician, vocalist and songwriter. Having a career spanning over 40 years and possessing a strong broad vocal variety (especially using his trademark high pitched vocals), Plant is looked upon as among the best vocalists in the annals of rock and roll, and has affected contemporaries and later vocalists like Freddie Mercury, Axl Rose and Chris Cornell. In 2006, heavy metal magazine “Hit Parader” named Plant the “Finest Metal Vocalist Of Time”. In 2008, “Rolling Stone” editors ranked him number 15 on their listing of the 100 best vocalists ever. In 2011, subscribers of “Rolling Stone” set Plant in first place of the magazine’s list of the greatest lead singers ever.
