Katherine von Drachenberg, better known as Kat Von D is an American celebrity, model, musician, TV personality and largely a well known tattoo artist. Her interest towards artwork and music from an early age was changed when she was affected by the Latino culture and lifestyle in La. With her ability in art, she began to make tat designs and at the age of 14 had got her first tattoo. She also considers that her selection in music has inspired her towards her field, although she a tattoo artist over a musician. Born as the eldest of three children; she’s got a younger sister along with a brother. Her parents are dad Ren Drachenberg and mom Silvia Galeano who were both born in Argentina and later moved to Mexico. She spent lots of time with her grandma Clara von Drachenberg, as her parents were outside on work mainly. It was her granny who inspired her towards music and artwork, and she also started to take in piano lessons as a kid. A lover of Ludwig van Beethoven, she listens to punk rock and metal music generally. Produced in Mexico, she’s an American by nationality and was brought up as a Christian; although she does not follow faith quite closely. Her first work as an expert tattoo artist came forward, after she began to work in a tattoo parlor named 305 Ink in Miami. After the chief guy of the area, Darren Brass injured his elbow; she got the opportunity to act as a tattoo artist. She worked for 2 successful seasons in the show, before stopping due to some private motives with Ami James. Subsequently, she began her own show LA Ink, which would be filmed in her own store High Voltage Tattoo. After successful carving 400 tats in a day, she made it to the Guinness World Record of most tats given by one individual in 24 hours. She also composed a novel High Voltage Tattoo in 2009, which rose to the 6th position because year’s The New York Times Best Seller list. Releasing her second novel in 2010, she also started her own line of make-up by the name of Sephora. She even coordinated a New American Beauty Artwork Tour, and the money collected went into a non-profit society named Art of Elysium. Having created an effective public image for herself, she loves the recognition and all the ups and downs that come along.
