Terius Gray (born March 25, 1975), better known by his stage name Juvenile, is an American rapper, celebrity, and songwriter. He’s also a former member of hip-hop group the Hot Boys. In the age of 19, he started recording rap songs, releasing his debut record “Being Myself” in 1995. In 2003, he returned to Cash Money to record “Juve the Great”, spawning the number one hit “Slow Motion”. Following this record he again left Cash Money, as well as in 2006 he was signed to Atlantic Records. He released “Reality Check” under that label.
Juvenile had a daughter, Jelani, with Joy Deleston. On February 29, 2008, Juvenile’s 4-year old daughter Jelani was shot and killed in her house, along with mom Deleston and older half sister. It was reported that Deleston’s oldest kid, 17-year old son Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr., returned to the house after cops arrived and implicated himself in the murder of his mom and sibs. Terrell was charged with three counts of homicide and three counts of aggravated assault. Though Juvenile got some criticism for not attending the funeral because of his daughter and her mom, several statements were released the rapper was “shocked and devastated” from the function, and additionally “was incredibly saddened to listen to the reports. As a private issue he’s no additional remark.” The rapper said he made your decision not to appear in the funeral to avoid following media attention, and was worried that it might redirect focus from the service.
