Jodie Foster Net Worth $100 Million
Alicia Christian Foster (born November 19, 1962), known professionally as Jodie Foster, is an American celebrity, film director, and producer. Foster started acting in commercials in the age of three, and her first major character came in 1976 as a child prostitute in “Taxi Driver”, that she received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1991, she starred in “The Silence of the Lambs” as Clarice Starling, a talented FBI trainee, helping in a search for a serial killer. This performance received international acclaim and her second Academy Award for Best Actress. Her other best known work contains “Contact” (1997), “Panic Room” (2002), “Flightplan” (2005), “Inside Man” (2006) and “The Brave One” (2007). Along with her two Academy Awards, she’s won three BAFTA Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, the Cecil B DeMille Award, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Foster returned to directing in 2011 using the black comedy The Beaver, starring herself and her buddy and Maverick co star Mel Gibson. Based on a script by Kyle Killen, it tells the story of a blue CEO of a toy company, who develops an alternate style according to a beaver hand puppet. It ended up being a box office flop, making just about $1 million during its first month after its general release in May 2011. The movie centers around four parents, whose initially peaceful assembly to discuss an event between their sons slowly descends into a battle. It premiered in the 68th Venice International Film Festival in September 2011, and garnered mostly favorable reviews. Foster received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance. Foster was honored together with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, given yearly to performers and filmmakers “who’ve had a clear impact on the world of amusement”, at the 70th Golden Globe Awards in January 2013. Foster appeared in the science fiction film Elysium, that was released in August 2013. Additionally with this year, Foster directed an episode of the Netflix first television series Orange Is the New Black. Two new directorial jobs, independent film Cash Creature and television series Angie’s Own Body, have been declared.
