Eduardo Luiz Saverin (Portuguese pronunciation:[eduadu luis save]) is a Brazilian web entrepreneur and investor. Saverin is one of five co founders of Facebook, along with Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, and Andrew McCollum. As of 2012, he possesses less than 5% of Facebook’s shares and contains a net worth of $3.9 billion, according to “Forbes”. He’s also invested in early-stage startups including Qwiki and Jumio.

Eduardo Saverin was born in So Paulo, Brazil, into a rich Jewish Brazilian family, and his family later moved to Rio de Janeiro. Eduardo’s dad was an industrialist working in export, clothes, sending, and property. In 1993, the family emigrated to the United States, settling in Miami, Florida. In 2006, Saverin graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University using a bachelor’s degree in economics. He’s an associate of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity (Eta Psi chapter of Harvard University). Noting the dearth of a committed social media website for Harvard students, the two worked together to establish The Facebook in 2004. As co-founder, Saverin held the function of chief financial officer and company manager. A suit filed by Facebook against Saverin as well as a counter suit filed by Saverin against Facebook were settled out of court. Though conditions of the settlement are not revealed, the organization affirmed Saverin’s title as co-founder of Facebook. Saverin signed a non-disclosure contract subsequent to the resolution. Saverin has lived in Singapore since 2009. The 2010 movie The Social Network depicts the partnership between Saverin and Zuckerberg from their creation of Facebook to Saverin’s legal action against Zuckerberg. No one actually understood all that much about Eduardo Saverin outside Silicon Valley, at least not until David Fincher’s.
